Safety Alert: Frozen Water Hazards

Good evening,

The cold weather has caused ice to form on local lakes, ponds, and The Royal Military Canal. Unfortunately, we’ve seen children playing on the ice without realising the risks.

Please share this message with any children in your care and make sure they understand the dangers.

Do NOT attempt to walk, skate, or play on the ice.

The ice may look strong, but it is extremely dangerous and can break without warning.

Falling through ice can lead to hypothermia or drowning within minutes.

Stay safe and keep children and pets away from frozen water.
